Zerodraft Insulation LLC is proud to have been awarded the bid to provide Icynene Spray Foam Insulation to one of Boston's newest federal office buildings. Zerodraft Insulation LLC was contracted by Bald Hill Builders of Sharon MA to install just under 14000 square feet of Icynene MD-C-200 in the buildings walls and another 8000 sq feet in the roof decking.
Zerodraft was chosen for the job based on their integrity and experience with closed cell foam insulation systems with 3inch sprayed in the walls and 4in in the roof decking the insulation "R" values will be equal to R-40 and R-60 respectively.
With a crew of four installers and one project manager, the installation will take approximately four weeks from start to finish and take 17 sets or 1,870 gallons of material.
Visitors to the job site have commented that the air density of the building has notably increased even though the building is still weeks from completion. Less air movement is a telltale sign of a proper functioning building envelope, the key component needed for energy savings.
